From Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education (Higher Education division) and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), to the UAE’s Ministry of Education (Higher Education & Research Sector) and Commission for Academic Accreditation, to Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Qatar’s Qatar University Office of Institutional Research and Planning, and Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation — the digitization of university systems is well underway.
But in all cases, the same underlying issue remained:
Universities were modernized. But higher education governance was never architected.
